About Eastham
Eastham is a small town in Barnstable County located on the Outer Cape about 90 miles southeast of Boston and is about 23 miles to Providence town. It is bordered by Cape Cod Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and the towns of Wellfleet and Orleans. It is known as the “Gateway” to the Cape Cod National Seashore. Eastham is known for Nauset Light Beach, Coast Guard Beach, and other parts of Cape Cod National Seashore.

Points of interest include the Eastham Windmill, or Grist Mill (built about 1680), the Swift-Daley House (1741), the Nauset Lighthouse, and the Three Sisters Lighthouses.
President John F. Kennedy signed the bill establishing Cape Cod National Seashore on August 7, 1961. He wrote that his goal was “to preserve the natural and historic values of a portion of Cape Cod for the inspiration and enjoyment of people all over the United States.”

Nauset Light is officially known as Nauset Beach Light. It’s a lighthouse that was constructed from one of the 1877 lighthouse towers relocated from Chatham in 1923. Nauset Light is listed as a National Historic Place , 48 feet tall and is the logo for Cape Cod Potato Chips.
